A multi-vehicle auto collision in New York is responsible for injuring several people. The car accident reportedly occurred Aug. 13 at around 4:20 a.m. While four vehicles were involved, all of those individuals who were injured were in the car whose driver is believed responsible for the wreck.

This particular accident occurred near Webster Avenue on the Cross Bronx Expressway. A portion of the northbound lanes of this road had been blocked for construction purposes, which required drivers to merge. It is around this merge point that the crash, involving two passenger cars and two semi-trailers, occurred.

At this time, it is believed that the driver of a sport utility vehicle failed to slow down, causing the SUV to hit another passenger vehicle. This set off a chain reaction collision involving the two big rigs. Three people in the SUV were hurt in the crash -- one of whom is said to have suffered critical injuries. All of the injured were transported to the hospital for treatment. There current conditions have not been reported.

New York police are still in the process of investigating this car accident. Currently, it is unknown if the SUV driver was among the injured or if he or she will be facing criminal charges relating to the crash. As a result of this person's actions, those injured in this wreck may be left dealing with mounting medical bills and other financial and emotional burdens. These individuals may be entitled seek monetary relief for their losses by filing legal claims in civil court. Through successful litigation, judgments may be awarded that could help the victims as they try to move beyond this trying event.
