New York pedestrian accident: Tragic incident in Times Square

Law enforcement authorities in New York are still investigating the tragic incident that recently took place in Times Square. Several people were injured and one killed when the driver of an automobile started hitting pedestrians with his car. If one is injured or loses a loved one in a pedestrian accident, it may be possible to seek damages through legal means.

According to reports, a 26-year-old male, for reasons unknown, drove his vehicle at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction on a sidewalk and hit a group of pedestrians in Times Square. A total of 22 people were injured and a teenage girl lost her life in the incident. A few of the injured refused medical treatment, while the rest were transported to a hospital for care. At least four individuals are said to have suffered serious injuries.

The driver is said to be a Bronx native with a history of driving while impaired. It is still unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in this particular accident. Even though the investigation into this matter is still ongoing, this individual has already been charged with attempted murder and vehicular homicide. Further charges may still be filed.

This is a tragic accident that has shaken the community. Victims, whether they or their families are local residents or visitors, have the right to seek compensation for their losses. Following a pedestrian accident, personal injury or wrongful death claims may be filed in an effort to seek relief. With the assistance of an experienced attorney, the appropriate legal actions can be filed in a New York civil court and full and fair compensation sought.
