Man arrested in New York pedestrian accident

Human beings have several basic responsibilities to one another. Perhaps most importantly, a person should help another person who has been injured. It is certainly a person’s responsibility to help another who has been injured as a result of his or her actions. However, police claim that the driver in a pedestrian accident in New York failed to help his victim. The pedestrian died from his injuries.

The accident happened in the early morning hours of a day in September. Police claim that the a sedan driven by a 25-year-old man struck a 33-year-old man as he crossed the street. According to reports, the man,– now accused of leaving the scene of an accident — not only failed to stop, but also failed to call 911.

Unfortunately, the victim died from the injuries he suffered. Police were able to locate the accused by identifying debris found at the scene. The man was arrested after he took the car, a rental, to a body shop for repairs. He is currently being held on $50,000 bond. Some sources claim that the accused has been convicted of criminal charges in the past.

The man’s loved ones are devastated by his tragic, unexpected death as a result of a pedestrian accident in New York. In addition to the criminal charges, his family members can also pursue justice in a civil court. If they can prove his death was caused by the driver’s negligence, the court could award them monetary damages to cover expenses stemming from the accident, including funeral expenses and loss of wages.
