A man in New York was recently arrested in connection with an auto-pedestrian crash that left one person seriously injured. The pedestrian accident reportedly occurred early in Dec. 2016. The driver believed responsible is said to have failed to remain at the scene of the incident.
According to reports, a 19-year-old male was walking home when he was struck by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup left the scene of the crash, but is said to have eventually come back, informed another person of the incident and left the scene again before police arrived. The victim is said to have suffered several injuries, including injuries to his back and a broken leg. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The individual accused of hitting the victim is a 47-year-old man from Oswego. He was arrested on Dec. 30 by police in Sterling. He is charged with a hit-and-run resulting in injury. He is scheduled to appear in court in early February.
The current condition of the victim has not been reported to the public. However, with the injuries he suffered as a result of this pedestrian accident, it is reasonable to believe that he is suffering not only physically, but emotionally and financially as well. This individual has the right to seek compensation for his losses in a New York civil court. An experienced personal injury attorney can assist this young gentleman with filing and litigating the appropriate legal claims in court in an effort to seek damages.
