Law enforcement officials in New York are looking for the man they believe is responsible for a single-vehicle crash that left one person critically injured. This car accident reportedly occurred in Queens on Sunday, March 12. The name and a description of the driver have been released to the public.
According to reports, at approximately 4:15 a.m., while operating his vehicle in the area of Atlantic Avenue and 84th Street, a 19-year-old male allegedly lost control of his vehicle and struck a parked car, a tree and a fence before coming to a stop. The driver fled the scene, leaving behind his brother who was a passenger in the vehicle. The 21-year-old male suffered significant head and internal injuries. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Police have yet to locate the individual thought responsible for this crash. They do believe that speed was a contributing factor. This incident is still under investigation.
When a passenger is hurt in a single-vehicle car accident, he or she may be entitled to seek compensation for economic and noneconomic losses in a New York civil court. In this case, a personal injury claim may be filed against the driver and/or vehicle owner — if different — in an effort for the victim to recoup any monetary damages he has and will sustain as a result of this incident. When this young man is ready and feeling up to the task, an experienced attorney can assist him in taking the actions necessary to seek relief.
