Days later, man dies from injuries suffered in now fatal accident

When one chooses to accept a ride from another person, he or she likely never suspects that the ride could end in an unforeseen manner. While the vast majority of the time the journey ends without incident, there are times when it ends tragically. One New York man has lost his life after his ride ended in a fatal accident.

The wreck occurred after a 25-year-old man reportedly failed to obey a traffic signal. He instead proceeded into the intersection after a high rate of speed. At that same time, a large commercial truck was entering on the green light and collided with the smaller car. Both vehicles continued to travel several feet before coming to a stop against a third automobile.

The 37-year-old passenger in the first car suffered critical head injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he remained for several days. Unfortunately, his injuries proved to be insurmountable, and he later died. The driver of that car was also injured in the wreck, though not critically. The drivers of the two other vehicles involved suffered only minor injuries.

The driver of the speeding car was initially charged with vehicular assault and driving while impaired. However, New York officials may revise those charges since the injured passenger has since died. The victim’s surviving family is now struggling to cope with the death of their loved one as well as the burdens of the monetary losses they have most likely sustained. They are entitled to seek information concerning the process of filing a wrongful death suit against the driver deemed at fault for this senseless fatal accident in an attempt to ease their suffering.
