New York pedestrian accident: Man struck in Queens

Law enforcement officers in New York are looking for the individual responsible for a crash that left one person injured. In mid-October, a man was severely injured in a pedestrian accident in Queens. A description of the vehicle involved has been released to the public, but so far the driver remains at large.

According to reports, in the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 17, a 55-year-old man was walking his bike on Juniper Valley Road when he was hit by a Jeep SUV. After the initial impact, the victim became pinned between the Jeep and a parked car. He is said to have suffered critical injuries and was promptly transported to an area hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

The driver responsible for this collision fled the scene. The only information about this individual is that he or she was driving a black Jeep Liberty. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact authorities at the earliest convenience.

Following a pedestrian accident, the physical, psychological and financial damages that the victim and his or her family may experience can be absolutely devastating. In this particular case, there is no saying how well the victim will fare as he recovers, and there is no way of knowing just how negatively this incident will ultimately affect his life. The victim may pursue civil claims against the driver, when found, in an effort to seek compensation for any current and future losses that he may endure as a consequence of this accident. If litigation proves successful, compensation for all those damages deemed recoverable according to the laws of New York may be awarded.
