Bus versus car accident leaves 13 injured

Authorities in New York are in the process of investigating a crash that left 13 people injured. The bus versus car accident occurred Friday, June 15, in the Bronx. The victims of this crash may be entitled to seek compensation for their losses through legal means.

According to a local news report, police were called to Morris Park Avenue and East 180th Street just after 1 p.m. to investigate a collision between a pickup and a city bus. Little is known about how or why the crash happened. What is known is that 11 people were taken to various area hospitals for treatment. A total of six victims are said to have suffered serious injuries, and five victims suffered minor injuries. Two of the victims refused immediate medical attention at the scene.

Police have not released any information about the driver of the pickup. It is unclear if this individual was among those injured in the event. As of the latest report, no charges have been filed against either driver involved. Investigators have not indicated if any charges are expected in this case.

Depending on who is deemed at fault for this car accident, victims may be able to seek compensation by filing claims against the pickup driver and/or MTA. At the end of the day, it all comes down to negligence and proving that either driver was negligent in his or her actions, resulting in the wreck. Personal injury cases like this may either be settled through out-of-court negotiations or by litigating the matter in front of a judge and jury. The victims of this event can turn to an experienced New York-based personal injury attorney who will be able to help them pursue maximum relief for their losses.
