New information about 2018 fatal limo accident case

When a limo crashed and killed 20 people in New York on May 4, 2018, it made national headlines. The owners of the limo company are currently facing criminal charges for their role in the fatal accident. However, new information has come to light that may change who family members of the deceased may be able to hold responsible for their losses.

According to a recently released report, a former employee of Mavis Discount Tire shop claims that, despite records saying that brake work was performed on the limo involved in the crash, that work was actually never completed. The record was allegedly falsified. The tire shop maintains it is not responsible for this tragic accident. However, some investigators have said that brake failure was behind the crash.

Why does information about an event that took place across the state matter? It just goes to show that drivers and vehicle owners are not the only ones that may be held responsible when accidents happen. Vehicle maintenance providers may also have some level of liability if their work, or lack thereof, contributes to auto collisions.

Those who have lost loved ones in fatal car accidents like the one mentioned above may be entitled to seek compensation for their losses. In order to hold the right people accountable, though, investigating the matter is necessary, which can take time. When those believed responsible are identified, legal counsel can act quickly to help clients file any appropriate claims in a New York civil court in an effort to seek maximum relief for any documented and legally recoverable damages.
