The man was standing on a street corner in Queens when a speeding car smashed into him on the pavement. A witness said that the car continued driving on the pavement for about another block before getting back onto the roadway. The witness also implied that the driver’s actions seemed intentional but missed the target.

The victim suffered a shattered femur a shoulder dislocation. These injuries, along with a concussion, could potentially have long-term repercussions. The man realized that he was lucky to be able to tell his tale from his hospital bed after surgery and said that he did not wish the excruciating pain on anybody. He is concerned about not being able to work at the moment and confident that justice will prevail.

New York residents who have been injured in a pedestrian accident may want to pursue recovery of medical expenses, loss of income and pain and suffering. By filing a personal injury claim in a civil court, the victim may be awarded monetary damages in full and fair compensation. To that end, the man is surely hopeful that the authorities will soon locate and apprehend the driver. Those who are unfamiliar with court procedures in New York may find that help is readily available for providing guidance every step of the way.
