Drunk driver responsible for crash that killed 2 and injured 3

A New York City couple was recently killed in a crash in Clifton Park. Three passengers in the vehicle with them suffered serious injuries, but all are expected to survive. According to reports, an allegedly drunk driver is responsible for this tragic event.

On Saturday, May 25, a 58-year-old male collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Ushers Road and Route 9. A 33-year-old male and a 32-year-old female — a husband and wife — died at the scene of the crash. Their passengers were hurt and required immediate medical attention. The current conditions of the survivors are unknown.

The driver responsible for the collision was also hurt, but his injuries were reportedly minor in nature. After receiving treatment, this individual was arrested and charged with DUI and vehicular homicide. He is facing up to 25 years in prison if he is convicted. It is unclear when his case will go to trial.

According to the laws of New York, the surviving victims of this crash, as well as the loved ones of those killed, may be entitled to seek compensation for their losses. Legal counsel will have the ability to assist those interested in pursuing relief with filing civil claims against the drunk driver responsible for this event. If negotiations or litigation prove successful, maximum compensation for any economic and non-economic damages sustained may be achieved. While money cannot fix everything, it can allow the surviving victims to focus on their recovery and the family members of the deceased individuals to focus on grieving the loss of their loved ones rather than having to stress about how they will cover all of the expenses that are sure to follow this incident.
