Gerald Walpin, a former AmeriCorps inspector general serving under President Obama, has died in New York. He was reportedly involved in a pedestrian accident while crossing the street on the Upper East Side. Police are still investigating this incident.
A recent string of auto-pedestrian accidents around New York resulted in the death of at least one individual and injuries for three others. The surviving victims have suffered severe injuries, which is not uncommon following an event such as a pedestrian accident. Their current conditions are unknown.
